about

Kongregation initially started off as a three-way collaboration between Chris Catharsis, Mark Hawkins and Jordan Miles. After admiring each others' MySpace pages (as you often do), we decided it was time to do something together. That something ended up being "Indefinite", the first song written for what this album would become. What followed was a flurry of Mediafire uploads and downloads back and forth until we arrived at something closely resembling an album. Unfortunately, Jordan was unable to work on more than a couple songs ("Indefinite" and "Silence the Masses") but we wanted him represented here because he was part of the creation of this project. Plus, he's just a top notch player and dude. Also, Ville Viljanen from Mors Principium Est liked our work so much that he actually contributed his vocals to our song "Optical Illusion"! We still can't believe it. You'll find that song as a bonus track when you download the full album.

Years later, Chris and Mark moved on to work on Soul Cycle, a massive collaboration project ACROSS THE INTERNET.

Jordan Miles - leads on "Silence the Masses" and "Indefinite"
Ville Viljanen - guest vocals on "Optical Illusion" (bonus track)

And thanks to EVERYONE at the time who created all sorts of album covers for us. We never could have expected the kind of response we got from just one song on MySpace.
